You must not know that much about the breed yourself if you call them tiger stripes.
I suggest you read a book or 2 about presas before you go bragging about your dog.
I have nothing against presas, just ignorance, and as you don't know what a brindle is you probably don't know enough about this breed to properly care for and raise this dog so it is a productive member of society as apposed to a menace to society.
They are great dogs, that is going to be the breed of my next dog. And I understand what tigerstripes means, but it is correctly called brindle. (I'm guessing dark brindle). Do you have any pics? Whats his name?
Hi I have a brindle presa brown/black. You either have a brindle Presa or if it's more like tiger stripes they call that a reverse brindle. Show some pics and I can let you know if he or she is brindle or reverse brindle..
Unfortunately those owners were horrible themselves.
Though, with the standard as it stands:
"Powerful appearance, severe expression. Especially suited to protecting, guarding duties and traditionally used for herding cattle and dog-fighting. Impetuous temperament. Low, deep bark. Obedient, reliable family protector, unfriendly towards strangers."
...it is understandable to see why some are wary of Presas. But I've met quite a few, all with exceptional temperaments and nothing more than a big dopey attitude towards everything. One I met even tripped over himself while playing with his boy. :)
