Sorry to have such an O.T. post (I don't do them too often...) But, does anyone know (especially those in Canada) how long it takes on average for a letter to get from Toronto area to the mid-west area near TN. I am expecting something from Toronto and haven't received it yet.
Do you have any idea about how many days it usually takes?
Oh wow! Thank you Rebel! You really opened my eyes...I was thinking it was just a matter of a few days and was worried that it hadn't gotten here yet. Is a week to 2 weeks the "norm"? It's only been 3 days since it was sent.
I have never got/sent anything from Canada before. Does the package/letter have to go through certain processes first?
Sometimes (most times actually) packages get stopped at the boarder for a while. I live in Canada and whenever I order something from the states or elsewhere, it takes a while (8 days up to sometimes 3 weeks). Letters come faster usually, around a week or 2 at the most. But don't worry, it'll come eventually.
The delay isn't so much transit time, but customs. Going out of Canada it will have to clear American Customs first and packages take longer than letter mail. 10 to 14 days seems about average assuming everything appears 'normal' to customs.
