I have a boston A large cat A gueneapig And we are trying to adopt a yorkie.
They are all small pets, our house is almost 2,000Sqfeet and we have a nice size yard. They are all healthy and happy and have plenty to eat. Plus with me my husband and our 2 girls they get all the attion they could ever dream of. And of corse we have enough for vets and such, even in an emergency though if 2 or 3 emergencys happend in a month i think we would be broke for a wile.
Is that to many pets? Honestly I dont think it is sence they are all cared for, loved, clean, and healthy.
Also what it a reasonable amount of pets? Here we can only have a reasonable amount of pets. I was thinking it would be diffrent for everyone. Like 3 small dogs would be more reasonable then 3 big dogs, Or someone could have a quite dog thats well cared for but they may take someones dog away if its loud and not being cared for. though I dont think the subdivison has the right to take someones dog from them, maby the animal controll guy would.
i think its different according to the person . some people can handle and care for more pets than others. one person may only have one pet and have a hard time with it, while others may have many pets and do well. if the animals are all loved and well cared for, i dont think the amount makes that big of a deal.
Boy, You kinda sound like me. You have to have permission to do stuff.
If you can handle all the time it takes to love, exercise and control. Then go for it. It is your life and you are the ones to take on the resonsibilty for a life time.
I find myself wanting another all the time but with 3 dogs and 3 cats, I find it would hurt the others with the time spent to take on more. The furry children do need love and time. If I didn't have to work and was home all day then there would be more!!

I know a man with 10 dogs and 2 cats in a house a qaurter that size. he a has some what of a yard. but he can handle all those. now i know a perosn in a mansion, that owns on poodle. and that dog is negelected.
Lol you have nothing compared to my mother in law and I. I have three dogs; small, medium, and large. Two rats, and two skin kids, who are 2 and 4. On top of that I do fostering.
My mother in law...oh boy....she has 7 dogs of her own. Sizes range from a min pin, to a great dane mix. She also is fostering 7 puppies! 3 are 12 weeks old, two are 9 weeks, and the youngest are 5, and 8 weeks.
It all depends on the time you have to spend with them that's important. When you start to feel overwhelmed, then it's time to reconsider the amount of animals you have. Good luck getting the yorkie though.
