hi i have a cocker spaniel that is almost 5mo old. this morning while we were out taking our mornig walk, we came across my mom, as she jogs around in the mornings. when my puppy saw her she got extremely excited, and started jupping. however, the second time she jumped up she flipped over and landed on the edge of the curb really hard. she yelped and kind of cowerd away when me and my mom bent down to comfort her. after that she seemed normal. i was just wondering if there is anything i need to do?
I don't think you should really worry about it. As long as she isn't showing any signs of pain when she moves, she's probably fine. However, if you do notice any signs of discomfort you should probably get her checked out by a vet. My maltese always jumps out of our hands and hits her head on various objects. Nothing is wrong with her!
I am new at this too, but I would just watch her for any signs of limbing or favoring of the leg. See if you can get her to play, if she does she might be feeling okay. I just adopted a 2 year old cocker Spaniel.. Good luck and have fun.
if you don't see any signs of her limping, or signs of being hurt she will probley be fine. i thinking that it scared her more than anything. if you feel like she might be hurt then take her to the vet, if it makes you feel better. follow your heart.
I owned a cocker spaniel for 13 years. Over the years, she has accidentally fallen or ran into something a few times. Generally, the injury seemed worse to me than it actually was. Consistent with other advice on this page, I would get it checked out if there is any bleeding, swelling, or limping, or if she seems to be in a lot of pain when you touch or apply pressure to the spot where she was injured.
Dogs can bruise just like us. I had a dog that got loose and was hit, by my sisters best friends mom. He was fine except his entire side was black and blue.
I have another dog now who when injured slightly will bleed under the skin. He develeps these large blood filled bumps under his skin. Weve had them biopsied. The vet says there is nothing we can do about it. Hes a hemophiliac. The only thing to do is give him fresh live everyday to help his iron count.
