I have 2 now, a butterfly and a tiger with my kids names on them. I've been wanting to get a Great Dane outline done to show my love of the breed since they have always been a part of my life. My DH told me to grow up and to act my age.
So I'm just wondering if there are any parents out there that have been inked after having children. Maybe share some of your tattoos and stories behind them. Then I can show the DH that I'm not the only one. LOL!!
When I wanted my tattoo, (I should have) taken the advice of the tattoo artist. He told me to take the image I wanted and put it on my mirror for 6 months. if I still liked it, then get it. Maybe you could do that with yours?
Of course, being 16 and a moron, I got it done without his advice. And now I don't want it lol
Oh i love tats. I have 2 on my ankle from when i was dumb and just turned 18. Im getting a sleave designed right now for my left arm. Its going to start on the left side of my chest and my upper back and then down my arm. The top is going to have my baby (my old dog) that passed away. Around my wrist im going to have the phrase "this to will pass" like a bracelet. Then the rest is going to be things that remind me of important events in my life.
It's a bear standing in front of the moon and stars all around him.
I like it, but I regret getting initials on it. They are the initials VJC after my sweet baby cousin that died almost 6 years ago now. His bday is actually coming up Sept 4th.
I dont like his initials there not because I don't love or miss him, but because I hate to explain what it means when someone asks. Right now I don't mind but eh... I should have thought about it more.
Ashley, that sounds beautiful! I know what you mean about explaining it...that kind of thing bothers me too...it's kind of like when you are pregnant and ALL anyone talks to you about when they see you is how the pregnancy is going! I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. That is an amazing thing you did in rememberance (sp) of him.
I have two and both were done after having children. I don't think you can be too old. My last one is on my lower back and it's a tribal butterfly. My Mother and Father-in-law just got theres last year. Actually come to think of it, our whole family has them - lol.
I always wanted a tat but my parents said no and at 17 I respected them so after raising 2 great kids 21-25 and when I turned 40 I got a 3'' moon with clouds on my right ankle and 2 months ago I had a 7 ‘‘dragonfly put on my other ankle no more I promise My husband does not like tats. But we have been married 25 wonderful yrs, I ll try to post pics
i have always wanted a koi fish in like a brown colour or something, so it doesn't stand out much but is there, but now i am thinking that i would like to get a small one for muffin, but i'm not sure what i would do.
I have a blue rose on my left ankle. It has shackles around the stem. The original design I picked it from had the words "Tainted Love" but I didn't want that! I hate when people ask me to explain it. There's really nothing to it. I love blue roses (they don't really exist) and I thought the shackles were cool. I got my tattoo after I had my 3 boys. My husband has no tattoos and my boys don't want any either. I want a few more. The ones I want won't show unless I want them to.
