Honestly... neuter your dog. Don't buy a dog with the intent just to breed it, not when labs are literally a dime a dozen. Unless your dog is an exceptional example of the breed, had has been OFAed as good or excelent for his hips, and has normal OFA certified elbows...
Plus...in my local paper about half or a little more than half of the whole 'Dogs for Sale' section is Labs and Lab mixes, everyday. 98% of these breeders are bad breeders who are just breeding because Labs are very popular, & they're cute, etc., etc.
I've seen a few that are good breeders and I've found a few on the internet from Idaho that are good but not much.

First you have to BUY an ad here if you want to advertise.
Then the girls solicit the boys. not the other way around. but here is advice. so for stud service.
You should post
Busters picture, pedigree, any titles awarded, All health certs, any successful past litters. And a little blurb on what makes buster such a fantastic dog.
If you are missing any of these. Buster should most defintly be nuetered. Also buster should be nuetered if any of these are sub standard. But if buster is all that and a bag of chips.
Then you can proceed...but take your time, because you need to find (again the girls usually ask the boys) an exceptional female.
Were still not there. Then we nedd to evaulate if the super female has anything to offer buster. So if buster is a great tempermented dog, but is a bit shy...you might want the girl to have supe confidence. if buster carries his tail to high. you might want to find a girl that carries her tail right.
Then we have to compare pedigrees. do they compliment each other? do some dogs repeat themselves to often in the pedigree? what are buster lines known for? what are the females lines known for? do the males in buster or the females lines produce dogs similar to themselves. are there any dysplastic dog in any of the pedigrees?
So thats a start.
But I have to say if you this how you find your breeding stock, you might just want ot go ahead and clip buster. do some research on breeding...learn, BEFORE the pups come. Then maybe try your hand at breeding. I have been in dogs since I was 12...now 27 I am just now feeling confident that I have a dog worth breeding...and the knowledge to do it responsibly.
Maybe I missed something with the OP's post but I don't see where (s)he said they wanted another dog to breed with their male? A "mate" could be a general way of saying they want a buddy for their current dog..
SWWesties makes a good point. If, for example, the OP is from the U.K. or Australia, then "mate" means friend, not mate in the way we perceive it. Maybe the OP can offer a bit more information to what she/he means by "mate".
