I have been around the block a few times in animal rescue circles, so some may know the name most will not. I came onto TP to learn more and share what knowledge I have.
I have recently published a Rescue support website, and run a Strictly rescue message board.
I am currently owned by 2 dogs, Bear age10, Roth age 11, and 20 ex-feral cats, age ranging from 20 years down to 3 years.
I am active in rescue and fund raising for small privately funded animal rescues.
I have very strong views on the mutilation of animals, ie. docking, ear pinning, declawing, breeding mutts with fancy names, and breeding in general, I promise admin I will try to curb my outspokeness here, but forgive me if I slip occasionally please.
I look forward to getting to know everyone, and sharing my pets, joys and heartaches with you all.
Well flip, we are in the same boat and thank you! for doing rescue.
I strongly advise all pet owners to stop the cross breeding and new age cockapoos. Even the breeding to have puppies. No one ever lookes at the bid picture of what happens to these puppys, what will its life be like.
I adopted Wiley from a no kill shelter. He was there over a year. This poor baby had been starved, beated and neglected from his first owners. Animal control saved his life by busting in and taking this poor little guy. He was then taken to Polaris rescue in CO and then to WY as the owners paid 800.00 for this dog and wanted it back to breed. A** holes!!!! They tranported this dog over night to save it from the orginal owners. He lived with this for 6 months.
Wiley does have his problems with self esteem and trusting. But he trusts me and you know what? That's all that matters.
Again thank you for the rescue you do.
