I have a 6 mo. old pup with pneumonia. She had kennel cough when we got her and it has since turned to pneumonia. She's been on antibiotics for 4 weeks now. Actually, 2 different antibiotics and a broncho dilator. She is still coughing. The doc. said we're going to switch antibiotics and give it one last try. She said if this doesn't help that the scar tissue may be too bad and we may not be able to save her. Anyone have any suggestions??? Anything, old family recipes?? I'm doing steam treatments in the bathroom, tapping her back and chest, keeping her warm. I just don't know what else to do.
Talk to him about putting her on antibiotic combination: naxil and doxycycline. You may like to go over to the aarrff.org website and read about charlie, it's 4 or 5 pages but it is the same kind of problem and it lays out his treaments.
In the end Charlie had other issues but it all started with kennel cough.

I will take your email with us to the vet and see how they feel. After reading the article about Charlie, I have to say Gia is nothing like that. She's running around like crazy and playing and has a great appetite. She has gained about 1/2 lb. since we got her, she was terribly thin when we brought her home.
So, I guess I am encouraged a little. Is there anything I can put in her food as a nutritional supplement to help her fight this???
I would give my kids vit C!!!!
What about the Vick's vapo, will the vapors help? Is that what you added to the humidifier?
