My first thought was Hound, when I saw his ears, lol! Then,I saw his eyes and coloring......all red/brown. He reminds me of a Weinerheimer(sp). But,he also kind of reminds me of my old Pharoah Hound,Kissie...RIP.
Anyway, his eyes, body, nose and nails all are the same color. He wanted to be too close to me while taking pics of him standing,so I wasn't really able to get any good ones. But,I did take all sorts of pics. Please take a look at him and tell me what you think.
His story-He was dropped off maybe two months ago out in the boonies where dh's friend lives. "Red" has lived outside at his house, roaming around ever since then. They have fed him,but after they aquired the lab,his food ratio went down,as the lab would eat it all. He absolutely LOVES the kids, was scared somewhat of the kitten(Tootsie),didn't have a problem with Magick(grown male cat)and doesn't seem to have problems with Faith or Nahla. I believe,by looking at him, that he is about 4-6 months old(I'd say more around 4 months old). He has learned VERY quickly(after showing him ONCE to stratch the front door to go out)what to do in bathroom situations, although he's not able to hold his urine or bowel movements for any length of time. He was taken out at 1AM,maybe a little after that, and I got up at 6AM to a huge!!!! pile of poop in my living room floor..yuk! He has peed several times in my floors this morning directly after coming in from peeing and pooping outside. So,this tells me two things-1)He's extremely young and 2)He is still afraid and has to adjust to being inside and around us/our other animals.
Thanks for listening, and please offer any advice as to what you think/know his breed to be. I appreciate your time.
P.S.Wanted to add that his life has been around two mean bengal(sp) cats as well since being dropped off at their house(one male and one female). The friend wanted DH to bring him to our house and see if he does well with us,as he needs more attention and to be away from those mean cats. We are already just head over hills in love with the little(BIG) boy,and want to train him and give him a good life here with us. This is an odd situation,as the DH doesn't care for animals much at all,but called me saying "I'm bringing home a very lovable sweet surprise...and he's licking my neck as I'm driving, giving kisses!" Anyway,he took to Red.....even cleaned up the poop before going to work this morning!

I have no clue. Hes very cute though. His build looks alot like one of the litters of pups we had when i was young. The mom was mastif and german the dad was lab and pitt. The pups looked alot like that but 90% of them were solid black (i think there were 16 pups).

I agree :)
Thank you to all,I will check on the other breeds as well.
Question to anyone who works for/with vets,etc-
Is there any way to actually have a blood test ran on any dog thought to be full-blooded? I'm curious,as I've thought maybe there is something they can do(DNA/profiling)when you aren't completely sure. Things that make you go Hmmmm...?? LOL!
Callain, I went and looked at the redbone coonhound....I remembered having one when I was a child, but it's been a looonnnggg time since then, lol. After looking and reading about characteristics,it doesn't fit Red. Their webbed feet, jaws, lips and facial bone structure is very close, but not the same. Thanks for bringing up the beautiful breed I haven't had the opportunity of seeing in a lot of years now,I do appreciate your thoughts and help. I think I'll send that pic to my dad,he'll enjoy seeing one again :)
