Caught in Mitchell Creek, Traverse City Michigan 36 inches long.. Wish we had a scale to see how heavy it was.. He is so proud!!! Wish we had the extra money to have it mounted for him.. He loved eating though!!
We cooked it on the grill.. We cleaned it, taking of the head and fins and intrals. Cover the skin on both sides with lemon pepper and garlic. In the cavity we used those plus butter and chopped onions. I had no dill so I used about a 1/4 of dill pickle juice to add to the flavor and help steam it. We double wrapped it in tinfoil and tented it and cooked it on the grill on medium for about 1 1/2 hours and boy was it great. Peeled the skin off and chowed down.
Used the left overs to make a Salmon souffle.. MMMmm
He should be proud!!! Nice fish! Ill bet it was good, If you coulndnt get it mounted how about blowing up the picture and putting it into a poster frame ther only about 11 bucks! Tell hime congradulations!
