He had his surgery Thursday morning, I was able to pick him up by 2 pm. He has about a 1.5 inch incision, stitched up, shaved tail (looks hilarious), and though he's still a bit bruised, the swelling is gone, and he hasn't been bothered by it at all.
Vet said he'd keep it clean by licking it, but that were he to start scooting or nibbling at it, I'd have to keep on him to make him stop/get a buster coller. But he hasn't done anything but the occassional cleaning, he's been great. I think it gets itchy sometimes cuz he'll jump like he just got bit in the behind, and start doing circles trying to look at his butt, haha. Pretty funny.
He's on antibiotics for two weeks, then he'll get the stitches out. Surgery went great, the vet is just awesome, and the total bill after everything plus the take-home medications? Ten dollars cheaper than the estimate, a mere 284 bucks! So glad I got the heck away from the original vet. I'll hear back on the biopsy results by Wednesday, but no matter what, at least it's gone!
Thanks guys, for making me realize I wasn't crazy. It's like, I always know what I should do, but coming here solidifies it for me :)
