I have an 11 week old Bichon named Satchel. He gets lots of attention as I have 4 daughters and a husband that adore him...(I do too of course)...My husband and I both work full time and so Satchel gets crated. I come home on lunch and let him out to potty and he does ok. I watch him like a hawk when I'm there, but unfortunately the kids don't (I don't expect them to)...needless to say he has many accidents between the time the kids get home and I get there. We continue to remain as consistant as possible with this. How long could it possibly take for him to be 100 percent potty trained? Also, when we crate him, I try my best to let him go potty outside at least twice before I leave for work. He has always been good, but today, I found that he soiled his bedding in his crate. Am I leaving him too long in there? What can I do? Any advice? Thanks.
I don't have a Bichon, but I know people who did, and from what i've head and witnessed, they are amoung the most difficult to housebreak. My friend ended up crating her dog except when she was home... I wish i knew more, but I don't.
