As if it is not bad enough that he murdered two innocent kittens - he also brought a gun to school and then fired it while kids were still at school?? That part should be criminal enough to throw the book at him!
Murder can not be applied when it comes to animals, even if destroying them is done in an unplesant manner. Anymore then two animals being able to murder themselves, its actually a pretty narrow deffiniton.
I didn't think about this before, but it mentions that the mother was killed in a trap. I'm assuming that this must have been set on the school grounds too or how would have he known about it? The kittens wouldn't have strayed too far from where there mother was, right? So on top of bringing a gun to school, they are also setting inhumane traps on school grounds????? What if one of the children would have messed around with the trap?? :(
I am shocked at the thought that as an administrator, he would have a gun. I live in Texas and we have a state "No Tolerance" policy on firearms on school property. My son went hunting this past weekend and left his gun behind the seat of his truck. I ripped him a new one when I found out about it! We have dogs that randomly show up at school that are trained to sniff for drugs, alcohol and firearms. If they had shown up that day (like the did the day after he took it out!) he would have been expelled from school and been unable to finish his senior year in HS. It is a very tricky thing here because of the large population of hunters, teachers and kids alike. This man was just plain cold-blooded!
