none of my dogs care for their kongs, even when they are stuffed with treats. scout would occasionally play with the kong that comes attached to a piece of rope. it is a blue and white swirly color. if i tossed it she would run after it and grab it, then run around the yard with it. then it got stuck up in a tree and that ended that.
Try washing the kong with warm soaply water. Then after it dries put some treats and peanut butter inside that should atract the pup to it. They also make "Kong Stuffing" for the knogs. If the knog still has an oder after washing I heard you can put it in the dog food bag and mix it with the food and let it "soak" in the smell over night. Good luck :)
My puppy loves his kong. I have 2 one that he gets when he goes in his kennel in the morning when I leave for work and one when he goes in at bedtime. I think that helped with his liking his crate but he doesn't expect it unless he is getting ready for those 2 times. He will watch me then head into his crate like he knows what it is for. THe smell never seemed to bother him and he is half beagle and you know they love to smell things
my frenchies played with their kongs when i first got them. they would get as much of the peanut butter out of them as they could, then they lost interest. they have more fun with the rope toys. they all play tug-o-war with them. they also like their tennis ball toys. i was thinking of trying the kong balls. they would probably have more fun with those than they did the regular kongs.
Mine did not like their kongs. I bought them the plastic ball you put treats in and they love it. Espically Tina, will roll it with her nose and the other two wait until the treats fall out. They make her do all the work. lol!!
Oh my! all three of my dogs loved it (Buddys over again)
I stuffed them with peanut butter last night, they only worked on them a short time and fell asleep. This morning they all grab theres and started in on them again. After work they played with them again and by this evening they had it all gone.
Tonight they are eating turkey, cottage cheese and sealed with cream cheese. They are going nuts with them.
I wish I would have boughten them a long time ago!
