I recently posted about my hysky eating my kitchen.. Well great news, I solved my problem it's so easy :) I didn't want to put a muzzel on him and I didn't want to crate him... I took one of those cones you put on them if they have a wound thier not supposed to lick. AND IT WORKS!!! :) He can drink and chew on his bones and he still can't bite :) And he can't get it off either :)
That is a solution but for how long will he have to wear the collar? Is the chewing just a phase or is this something you think might be for the rest of his life? Bet you can not wait for that new floor!
I'll have the colleron him for a while so my heart rate can calm down *lol* Then I'll test him a quicky wirhout the coller I believe it's a faze or at least a bad habbit... And I'm thrilled about the new floor :)
I am going to tell you that wearing an e-collar long term will cause some damage. When Ruffian went through her first yeast infection in her right ear it took a long time to cure. She wore an e-collar for a few months it sawed all her fur off from around her neck, and she started to get sores on her neck from the tabs.
I bought one specialy with that in mind... its got a fleece lining so its confortable and expensive as "#"¤. *lol* And it just has to work.. I mean he's not home alone alot at all. I work at home and if I'mgoing to be gone a longer period of time I have a dog sitter. The longest he is home alone would be 6 hours and that might have happened twice in his life.
I left him earlier today just to check what he does when I'm gone. I have my web cam on record so I can see him. I did the same thing last week without the coller on and as soon as I left the appartment he started ripping the place apart. So I left him today with the coller on and when I left he went to his bed and went to sleep... it seems that in some odd kind of way he is relaxed when he has the coller on and he slept the whole hour I was gone :)
Thank God :) I couldn't be happier I thought I was gonna have too get rid of him...
