Hey,i have a question for you all. I'm looking to buy a bulldog puppy, i've checked alot of web sites. I found 2 listings on a web site called The Pet Exchange. One listing the price is 350 the other is 450. I'm thinking this is a great deal, then i found out where they lived. The person who has the puppy for 350 lives in Victoria Cameroon (i was thinking that was in Canada, where i'm from) then i find out it's Africa (i looked it up online). The person who has the listing for 450 lives in London England. Now i'm thinking its not such a good deal, i'm thinking maybe it's a scam. What do you think, Oh just to be straight those prices include shipping. and apparently the Dog being shipped from Africa is a door to door service. Let's hear your thoughts. Thank you.
First of all I would never buy from anyone with out visiting the kennel to make sure they are on the up and up with taking care of there dogs and breeding only one or two kinds of dogs. In other words not a puppy mill or BYB.
I think it is a scam! Big time! I wouldn't send my money!
i think that's a scam too. also i noticed you were from canada, where in canda are you from, i am from quebec and you have to be really careful because there are a lot of puppymills in quebec. so if you are anywhere around there i would be careful. good luck.
Thank you for your opinion. Also about your comment of visiting the breeder. Living where i'm from there are not very many people breeding bulldogs, there is only one that i know of and and they only breed every two years. I was going to get a puppy from this summer but was unable to cause we were in the middle of moving.
If you can't visit them make some phone calls and check them out. Animal control in the area where the breeder is can help you out. Dog trainers in the area will know if the kennel is ok. You just have to get on the phone and find out everything you can.
I know about all the puppy mills in this area and tell anyone who is looking for a dog what rotten treatment they give there dogs. We got one closed down a few years ago and working on another one now.
Expect to pay $1500. at the least and more for a better pedigree. Bulldogs are a hard breed to welp from what I hear. It would be foolish to purchase one from an unknown source. A good way to start is to ask a reputable registry for breeder lists and start checking some out.
