This puppy was allowed to go untreated of his demodectic mange, he got so bad that when he was bathed that his skin started to peel away. He seemed to be doing well after being rescued, but soon took a turn for the worst. Late in the night he lost his will to live and became to weak to get up, eat, or drink. He was rushed to the vet by my MIL and was kept overnight on IV fluids. Since he was eating and drinking yesterday they decided he would be better at home (my MIL's house) last night his breathing was labored, and he continued to have spasms in his legs. The mange is killing him, and if we can not get it under control, he could die. I haven't received an update as of late last night, but here the poor guy is.
just wanted to give you a heads up about your dog. i know you want to get her spayed ASAP but i would wait until her mange is cleared up. we will not spay or neuter any dog that is affected with the mange while they are still syptomatic. the surgery suppresses their immune systems even more while they are having the surgery and healing from it and can turn a so so case of mange into a huge problem. just a thought.
