I have to take Tigger to the vet. She has a lump in her side, which started out very small . I was just checking her out today,in a matter of 2 weeks it has grown the size of a Robins egg. It's portruding out of her side. It doesn't seem to bother her, hurt her. She acts like it's not even there. Are they very common in the Bully breeds? What's the worse case senario for her? Will this be benign or malignant? Please don't say take her to the vet,I know this. I just was looking for some input . She's 8 ,and I know at her age things like this happen.Right now I can't deal with any more bad news. I mean July 4th is coming up,the whole episode with Sadie is going to come flooding back. It's only been a year since her death.I pray it's only a lump that needs to be removed. Thanks for any input.
red i know i can be kind of a smart A!! sometimes. but with your pup, take her in it could be a ingrown hair or a parasite. but take her in to someone who has gone to school for animal medicine. early detection is they key if tigger has the big C, which this seems to have grown kind of fast which is a good sign. cancer usually moves slower than that
One of my dogs had a growth like that and when we took him into the vet it ended up being a group of ingrown hairs. It grew pretty fast in a matter of mabey 2 weeks. Cancer lumps usually take longer than that to grown.
The only way a tumor could grow THAT fast is if your dog had gotten exposed to some major radiation, and since that's very doubtful, I'd guess they are ingrown hairs as well. It's a very simple procedure to get rid of them. :)
