Baby Joseph got to come home on Friday night!! He is eating like a piggy, and gaining weight, so he should be chubbing up soon. No procedures ever ended up needing done. No blaockages, no surgeries! They determined that he simply had a very sensitive preemie belly and needed some IV support for nourishment until his tummy could slowly start handling the formula, Yay, what a relief! Though with him being a preemie, I'm sure the road isnt completely cleared yet....but so glad this major hurdle was won with leaps and bounds.
Yes, they do look like a human Shar Pei being so tiny. But it sounds like your grandson is doing great. Home in 1 weeks time, that is awesome. My girlfriend's son spent about 6 months in the hospital. When he was born, he fit in the palm of your hand. Although, we couldn't hold him until he was about 3 months. It's amazing how strong these little ones can be.
I'm new here but couldn't help but read your discussion about your grandson. Congratulations on your new grandson and that he's doing well. You've probably heard more of these stories then you can count - but I wanted to share that 19 years ago I gave birth to a little girl who was 26 weeks gestation and weighed 1#- 10oz and was a foot long and was given less then a 10% chance of survival. Despite the scarey beginning and several set backs (and 19 years ago they knew a lot less then they do now!), my daughter is now a vibrat, beautiful sophamore in college. My wishes to you and your family for the same wonderful outcome!
