Your other thread indicated a need for haste. No it was a post on someone else's thread..
An attitude like that keeps rescues far far away.
These people are unpaid volunteers with real jobs, they don't spend every waking moment to cater to all possible adopters. Sure some rescues are more lax on replies, some not. Better off finding a GSD rescue, becoming approved by them and waiting till the right dog passes through, that was already pre approved than needing to feel liek you have to hurry before it's adopted.

There is no haste. My father has been looking for several weeks.
And as to all the ones on petfinder he is looking for one kinda close (within a 6 hour drive) so that he can make sure it would be a good fit. Alot of the ones listed on petfinder that are close are the ones that never respond. And if they are serious about finding homes for the dogs i'm sure they could spend 2 mins contacting just for general information, to see if they want to preceed.
yes he filled out the apps for the ones that had one. One person called after he had an appoitment to see the dog and said they had decided to keep it. Another rescue group called Fri and asked if they had a fenced in yard (which he does) they then said they'd get back to him. They called sat and asked for vet info and said they'd call him back in a day or two. That was last week. The vet never recieved a call. The vets wife is the receptionist. And they have known the family for years and always given good references for my dad because he has always taken good care of our animals.
My point is it is frustrating to try to adopt an animal and it seems like you are getting the run around from the rescue group!!
thanks wiley but my da called me today and said he found a fourth month old german shepherd boy today. It was by sheer luck he had found him. He was traveling with a business partner and business partner's sister was looking for someone to take himsince her husband is going to iraq and she has year old twins at home.
