There is NOTHING wrong with what she did. The owners of the store allowed it. What she did was ALLOWED people, whether you agree with it or not. Why turn a nice thread into a nasty arguement over a dog being allowed in a food store? It is NOT up to you people on this forum who disagree, it is up to the owners of the store who allowed her in. And let's not bring up the fact she is 14. So what. She was allowed to bring her in, and if you don't like it, don't shop there. She doesn't need to be chastised over it, she does not own the store. So silly to argue over this, and I think it is just because it was Sienna's thread and the fact she is 14.
I have to agree with you, GotHusky2, and I would also like to add that it just looks like the majority of the time was spent taking pictures rather than grocery shopping.
I love my dog too but the only place he's allowed is PETCO where they're prepared for any "accidents" he might have. I just don't know what i would do if I was at a grocery store and I suddenly heard "Doggy-Doo clean up in aisle 6"
I don't know where you people live that are shopping at stores that have unsealed bread, but come on! The bread is in plastic! How stale would that bread be out in the open for even a short while!
I just saw a thing on a court show that store owners are allowed to decide if they want animals in their stores or not, so if Sienna asked and got permission, your only recourse is to not shop at that store or protest the store directly.
Bread may not completely be out in the open, but where I shop and have shopped for all my life, the top of the bread that was baked fresh that morning, is open.
It's been that way everywhere I've ever been all up and down the East Coast.
The people who are jumping to siennas defense and saying that everyone is only saying the things they are because it is siennas thread, are dead wrong. It is just the way I feel about the subject. Ask sienna herself how many times I "attack" her and/or disagree with her on threads.
So enough with the finger pointing, taking it personal and making me look like the devil in the flesh for thinking it should be the standard to have boundaries.
We are making no progress on this board because when we try to point out that younger members of this board are mature, their age is quickly thrown back into play. If I was sienna, the fact that everyone keeps throwing my age in my face and jumping to defend me like I was a small child, would aggravate me. I am sure she is mature enough to realize that she doesn't know quite everything that this world has to offer just yet, just like the rest of us...and that, I am allowed to have my own point of view on the subject.
The reason for me to keep posting, is I keep thinking of other points I would like to add. Don't like that either? Tough. I can't be so wrong if even a group of animal lovers agree that it is uncalled for to take a dog shopping with you.
Would you have pulled an attitude with me, had I confronted you on it face to face? Because I can tell you something, I would say something to whoever's face.
I am a smoker, it is hard to even find a place to smoke in public anymore. I about have to crawl under a blanket in my bedroom in the dark, and that is fine with me because it is something that I choose to do. Not everyone agrees with it, or wants to deal with it and I get that.
Just like this case though, there are those smokers who give others a bad name and try to push the limits. Just because someone may not be caught, doesn't mean it is acceptable.
And as far as not shopping there, that is really great advice barligirl and the rest of those who suggested it! Problem being, how do I know they allow pets? When the "worst case scenario" happens? Come on people, if this was something you felt strongly about all bets would be off, so give me a break already.

I am absolutely up in roars at the hypocrits of this forum......
Aw well, I still believe that Sienna did nothing wrong. I also think it is funny that everyone thinks everyone would be too afraid to confront someone. If I had my dog in a store that ALLOWED dogs and someone confronted me......I wold have a few choice words and I would not be leaving due to someone elses problems, they shouldn't shop at a store where dogs are allowed. Too bad for them. They can leave or they can complain to the managers but as long as it is allowed, I see no reason why she should not bring her dog EVERYTIME she goes shopping. Obviousely no one is complaining if the store is still allowing them. JMO as always
" But I keep getting the strangest need to keep reminding you people that pets don't belong, where they don't belong."
Yeah, that need to tell people what to do is pretty strong with you. BTW, Who exactly are you referring to as "you people'?? Sounds like someone thinks they are a tad bit higher then the rest of everyone else......or at least that do not agree with her...
You people, as in you people. The people of this forum. You know, the ones who are having a hard time grasping that whether the people said it was ok or not...there are health codes and it is a big red flag about what kind of place will let something like a little health code issue (sarcasm) slip.
We are not talking about Home Depot or the likes.
Hey Katz, don't you like it when people leave you alone? Can you do me a favor and do me the same favor that I try and do for you if I have nothing constructive to add to your recent "come back" posts, and act like I don't even exist. Thanks bunches. I won't even get into the defamation of character war with you :)
Pope, I was not pointing the finger at you. Several people commented they thought the bread was open, looks like it is in plastic to me. I guess on the east coast you do things differently, I have never shopped at a store with open bread. The just baked loaves in just a paper wrap sometimes, but never completely open.
I just wanted to point out what I learned on the show just yesterday about store owners right to decide the issue themselves. I understand both sides, but if the law says the store can allow it, so be it. I would think if it was a problem, the health department would have some say in it.
My husband smokes (and don't I hate that!) he quit for 15 years and started again. Even though I am used to it again, I still hate it and am personally glad it is not allowed in public places anymore, it is my only break from it :)
"The just baked loaves in just a paper wrap sometimes, but never completely open."
barli, here is is put in like a special paper bag? I guess you could say...and the end is left open, unsealed. They also store it on an angle on most shelves, if not standing completely upright.
I agree about the health department statement. Most of the jobs dealing with food I have worked at, we stayed immaculate because you never know when they will walk through the door. Once while working at a restaurant, a little girl brought her JRT in. She was holding him, but I still HAD to ask her to leave before my boss saw and freaked, no matter how cute he was and no matter how much I really wanted to check him out....
Pope, if only you tried a little harder once in a while to give me that same respect, alas, you do not. So, no, I am sorry. I will acknowledge who I would like and say what I like.
I also have never shopped at a place that would allow open bread. THAT would be unsanitary, think of all who may have touched it and god knows where most people hands have been......Thanks but I would take a dog being in the store not touching anything over some of the crap that comes off peoples hands any day....
Humans are some of the dirtiest creatures on this planet!
Because I think maybe you should go back to the posts where you ask a question....you won't see my name there. Unless I am giving my honest advice on something, like the situation with your sister.
Here I was, thinking I was doing a pretty good job of trying to "play nice" with you....but then again, this isn't the first time you've accused me of saying something that I haven't. Even when it was pointed out by a few posters that it had been someone else who had said what I was accused of, an apology was never issued.
So don't try and get self righteous with me. I ignore the bulk of your posts.
