Bellas mom, I take pictures of Max weekly, not daily. And yes it's because I want to, but also because I LOVE photography.
I just can't imagine why people put an outfit on their dog every day, and the dog can't even go for a walk without being carried, or put into a juicy bag, or stroller. That's NO FUN. Its quite cruel actually, a dog's not a fashion accessory. Just my OP.
Those are great pics! The first one is hysterical - she's actually posing and smiling for the camera in that outfit. The last one gives such a different view of her - incredibly majestic. (I'm jealous of the snow - it's beautiful.)
I dress Lacy up because I love all the cute outfits they make for dogs, and I think she looks really cute all dressed up. I think one of the reasons to have a little dog is because you can dress them up and take them so many places with you in a carrier. She doesn't mind being dressed at all. It's just part of her daily routine of getting brushed and dressed. I work part-time in a dog boutique and she goes to work with me. I know many people who dress their dogs. It is in no way cruel to put your dog in a carrier or stroller and take them places with you. There are so many people who don't spend enough time with their dogs. I spend almost all of my day with Lacy, and of course she loves getting to be with me instead of being left at home in a crate all day. And of course she gets to be a real dog. I take her for walks to go potty and occasionally just to walk around, and she plays with other dogs almost every day. In fact, she can get pretty hyper and play really hard and rough. She has plenty of toys and dog friends to play with. She's a very healthy, happy and loved little dog.
Here is a picture I took of her a little over a year ago playing with one her best dog friends, Zach. They were getting pretty wild and playing and barking at each other. Somehow the picture took at just the right moment...they look so crazy in this picture. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/M13Lucky/crazydogs-1.jpg
I don't know why that statement worries you. Of course I love Lacy. She's in no way just some fashion accessory. Lacy is my child...I say that I'm her mommy all the time. She's definitely my baby. One reason I like little dogs is because they can be treated more like actual children...I dress her, brush her, bathe her, play with her, and take care of her just like I would my own child. She's the love of my life. Think about it this way: a woman has a baby and buys all kinds of adorable outfits, cute shoes, and an expensive designer diaper bag. Does that mean she thinks the baby is a fashion accessory because she has a fashionable diaper bag and cuter outfits than the baby needs? No...she loves the baby and wants it to look cute. In the same way I love my dog and want her to look cute. It takes a lot of responsibility to have a dog, especially one as spoiled as mine. I really can't leave her alone for long or she'll get really upset because she's so used to being with me. Anyone who knows me would tell you I'm absolutely crazy about Lacy. I think you should worry more about people who buy little dogs only because they are cute and know absolutely nothing about them and the amount of time and money they take, or worry about the people that don't spend enough time with their dogs.

Ummm...big dogs can be treated just the same as little dogs. But dogs are not children. And this is why society has behavior issues with their dogs. Yes, I love my two like my "kids".. but I realize they are dogs and need to be treated as such.
haha! wiley! i actually spit my coffee out laughing at that first picture! crazy dog!! do your dogs LOVE the snow? this is cooper's first snow and he is sooo excited... i can see all his husky traits shine in this weather- it's like he feels so comfortable outside in the ice and snow!
Totally agreed with LOR. I mean, Max is like my baby, and yes sometimes I say "come to mommy". But come on..
I have a small dog just like you, but I don't put the dog in a stroller or dress him up day by day. I've put t-shirts/sweaters on him for special occasions I just think that he's a dog , and he lets loose. And dog's have leashes for a reason, to walk. I'm just against it because I love seeing Max have so much fun and to push a DOG around in a stroller is ridiculous. People have babies for that.
They both have a Christmas shirt. Hilo's is red with white fur along the edges, has a pic of a candy cane, says "Be Merry".
Kona's is green with red fur, has pics of ornaments and says " Fa La La La La".
My mom (their "grandma") actually bought them the shirts, but I have lots of others.
They are both chihuahuas, but Hilo has the thin short coat and an almost completely bald belly. My vet actually recommended that she wear a tshirt daily to keep her warm. Sometimes it's for function as well as fashion. Kona only wears one for special occasions.
And I think of both of them as my kids as well.
However, I don't put them in strollers and both walk on leashes (as best as a 2 lb dog can!).
