I do home healthcare with the elderly/disabled. I work anywhere from 3-6 hours a day. Both of my clients are within' walking distance, and both of them enjoy Duchi's company as much as I do. So. I would go as far as to say.. I am with my dog pretty much 24 hours a day. Unless I go out shopping, or to a movie.
Her favorite thing is to play fetch with those little squeeky bone plush toys.
I'm a housewife, so I spend all day with my 8 pets. Although 3 of them are fish so there isn't any real "quality time" with them lol.
My female Chihuahua and I play fetch with a tennis ball a lot (she's the only dog I have that will do it lol)
My mixed breed dog and I chase eachother around the house. I actually had a neighbor come over and ask if I was okay because of how much she was barking and how loud she was barking. lol they thought she was ripping me to shreads lol.
My male chihuahua is really quiet, and keeps to himself on a pillow under the christmas tree,... but he does dance for treats lol, SOOO CUTE!!! And we have this big rope that we baught that is twice as big as he is that he likes to pull around the house.
My cat is LAZY, he only likes to play after he's slept ALL DAY, and he only likes to sleep on either my chair at the kitchen table, or my rocking chair!! He's not ready to play until I'm on my way to bed lol. SOO I tied a rope/ribbon thing to a big lamp and he plays with that all night and I hear him running around the house all night like he's eatin a bag of sugar lol.
AND finally, my last pet is a ball python, and she doesn't really like to play lol, but my stepdaughters like to wear her as a scarf or a belt lol. (I closely monitor that!! I don't want anything to happen!)

I am a stay at home mom so they have me all day every day. They are still pretty young (15 months) and energy comes with that! Thank the stars I crate trained them. My bed is a queen size and the cat already has half my pillow, I'd lose my mind if I had hubby, nikki, molly, sophie AND tom in that bed.
Crate training was the best thing I ever did, and I'm quite proud I did it with three pups at once.
Ten p.m. to ten a.m. is the quietest time in our house.
My 3 yr old is on a similar sleeping schedule, 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
Well, I work. So Beulah has to spend 8 hrs without me. I do however, have a roommate who works nights, so he is home sleeping during the days and he gets up around 1 pm and I give him a reduced rate on rent as long as he takes Beulah for a long walk when he gets up.
So, it works out wonderfully!
Beulah also does animal therapy, so every saturday is her day out on the town! That's our mommy daughter day.
The rest of the time she is doing whatever we are doing, running errands, visiting friends, etc.
And "what do we play"? Her favorite is ripping apart stuffed animals. We do it together! lol. I have to cut the eyes off first, then we throw it around the house until it is dead! She also likes to play fetch if she is in the mood. We also take her to our friend's house for a "play day" with his dog. They are great friends.

My husband works from home. He moves the dog beds into the office and I have gone home to find him on a conference call laying on the bed with 2 dogs snuggled up to him.
When I get home from work- it's mommy time! We generally go out and play fetch for a while and then they keep me company while I cook dinner and help Hunter with his homework. Then it's snuggle time - we all cuddle on the couch - and by all, I mean, me, hubby, son and 2 dogs. Then of course it's bed time - Charley (the pup) sleeps with us - but Quincy (the older one) prefers his bed next to ours.
I work part-time from home, so my 3 dogs are always with me. I try to walk them in the morning and they almost always get walked at night after their dad gets home from work. My two mini schnauzers are always velcroed to me and the wire fox terrier is always in close range, unless she is laying upstairs on my son's bed soaking up the sun coming through the windows. When I go back to work full time I'm going to have doggie withdrawals, they on the other hand will probably just sleep most of the day and won't even notice I'm gone.
I'm fortunate that I work out of my home. When i do have appointments out of the home "Charlie" sometimes comes with me, the other times he can't he stays in his crate with his favorite toy and the radio on softly. I would say we are together almost 24/7/365.
He's a 4 year old Setter, when he wants to play we play. And when he isn't playing or looking out the window barking at squirrels, etc he is at my feet under my desk.....
Our other dogs are in the same situation w/my wife, she works from home as well......So our guys and gals are lucky indeed.
Really glad to hear that you guys have lots of time for your babies. But I don't really mean 'being there with them', but i mean you're actually there interacting with them! I am by my baby's side 24/7 but I am not playing with him 24/7. And sometimes I feel bad because I think he is bored. He is always standing beside me lookin at me sometimes barks at me because he wants me to play with him. But there's just so much you can play so I'm stressed...
Is this the same dog that has worms and is vomiting? And he fell off your bed and screamed? And he is getting bacteria from your carpet? And he didn't eat or drink because he was sick? And it is only like 4 months old?
I doubt that you need to do much playing.
How about you let the poor thing SLEEP.

I work part time so I am not with Cody 24/7 but it is real close to it. I work 26 hours a week.He is always around me wherever I am but for actual 1 on 1 play time it is several hours a day. We go for walks, play fetch, sometimes he will bring me a toy to just hold for him while he is chewing on it, he loves for any of use to brush him and fuss with his ears, we truly have a great time together. He sleeps anywhere in the house at night and he will get up on the our bed and snuggles and gives kisses then he will go lay in the hall, living room or wherever he wants and a little while later he comes back in the bedroom and jumps and and starts all over. Someone said that to a dog, every 15 mins. is a new day to them and I can believe that! Just saw the last post and Cody loves milk cartons also, just have to watch and when they start to get pieces off you have to take it away right then! Cody is my shadow and I love it and could never be stressed over it and get bored with having him around me, I love it! ! How can you be bored with a 4 month old pup?Have you taken him to obiedence classes, taught him any tricks? Just wondering.

I was wondering something similar. It's like a soap opera with your dog and now you say it wants to play all the time. It's vomiting but you want to feed it. The vet gives you advice yet you ask us what to do. Now you claim it wants to play so much it has you stressed.
