They are so adorable. Sorry, I'm not good with names :(
It's strange to me because I had hamsters coming up, and I didn't want gerbils because I always thought they looked like rats. Now, I think rats are cute....gerbils just have their own "gerbil" look, I guess.
They're really cute. Wait til they get a little older and develope their own personalities. Ours are little beggars for yogert drops and one of them is a klepto, she drags anything not nailed down into the cage when we let them out. Even tries to take huge things that don't fit through the door inside. Its hilarious. They come when you call them, too. Handle them often, as much as possible.
Just to give you some advise, the carefresh litter made mine sneeze like crazy. Its not supposed to be dusty, but it is. We switched to a mixture of aspen and the shreaded crinkly paper kind (which they have a blast building nests with) and they are much better off.
they are cute. rats make excellent pets. my son had two . they would ride around on my shoulders. i bought them for my son and between the two of us, they didnt spend much time in their cage. the guy at the store told me that people will buy hamsters and gerbils for their kids , but dont want them to have a rat, and they are the least likely to bite out of all of them. go figure.......
Ya they are young rats, thats why there so small. Thanks lalayla for the advice, I did have carefress, and they Have been sneezing alot and I was getting worried, but I switched it now and havent noticed em sneezing anymore! THANKS! and Im sure they will be handled alot, I think they have spent more time out of the cage then they have been in it, Ive got one sleeping in my lap right now! As for naming, I named the rex "Ziggy" and the hooded rat is my little sisters rat (she's 8) so she named it "Muffy".
Oh how adorable! I've always loved rats (raised them for years). What about Pebbles and Bam Bam/Bambi? Are they male or female? The black hooded one appears to be female but it's hard to tell in the pics.
