What breed do you have? some are stinkier than others. You will also want to bring your dog to a groomer at least once a month. And ask them what perfumes they would remember? Wash their crate and bedding regularly.
I don't use any products. I have two indoor dogs, and 15 outdoor dogs that sometimes all have to be brought inside. I've never really had a doggy smell except during puppy time. But that of course is expected.
I have two beagle mixes and don't really have a dog odor in our home... unless they come in from the rain. I am however a smell freak... I vacuum every other day, I have plugins in every room, and once a week I use odo-ban on all fabrics that the dogs come in contact with - and some that they don't.
I also don't bathe my dogs overly often... I used to bathe my older dog every month or two and found that he just compensated by creating more oils in his coat... now - I brush them weekly and bathe them every 3 to 4 months (and sometimes longer in between depending on the weather).
i havetwo pups at home, they do have that smell before and a friend of mine suggest to give them same food that we people take, in short no more dog food! coz in my experience the bad smell of dogs has something to do with the food they take.just give them enough vit., and exercise.also keep them clean and dry always with clean blankets and dont forget to bath them atleast 2x a week.
I must admit I too have the "doggy smell" in my house. I feed my babies a combination of Science Diet and Eukanuba. This was recommended by the breeder of the chihuahua that I have. I bought her first so I also feed the same thing to my Yorkie. I this a GOOD diet???
I use pee pads for my two girls as well. They are full grown and my chi is 2 1/2 lbs and my Yorkie is 3 lbs. It gets pretty cold up here in the winter, so these babies are indoor doggies. You need to change the pee pads often. Otherwise you will definitely know that there are doggies in the house.
The Yorkie goes to the groomer once a month, I bathe the chi myself once a month. I love all the replies so far because there are so many products out there for pet sprays and etc.... it is nice to see which ones are already tried and recommended.
When we come back from a walk, I give her a once-over using a baby wipe...good for dirty paws, too and gentle on the skin. I also have success with a product by Crazy Pet called Baby Dog Grooming Spray. You just spray it on and brush through. It smells like baby powder....nice!

Take a look at the ingrideients... first one yellow corn... those are both pretty bad dog foods :(
I would reccomend Solid Gold, Wellness, Fromm, or Natural Balence. You could also try RAW/BARF, but that's quiet a bit more work!
So I am the weird one who curls up around my dog and lays my face against her back to sleep? Yeah, she kinda smells like a dog. And I bury my face right in her fur. because she's my dog and she's my comfort and knowing she is there relaxes me.
And, I usually have the opposite problem. After the people leave I have to take drastic measures to get the stench of a crowd of people out of my house!
