I don't know if this has been posted, so sorry for posting it twice if it has. There was a thread on here about a pit bull puppy chewing off the toes of a sleeping baby. The baby was apparently sleeping in a car seat next to her parents. The mother is saying it was the ferret. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16312314/
I am curious how their drug tests come out too. It is totally the parents fault. How did they not hear the baby? I hear EVERYTHING!! I have a baby monitor also, but their baby was right by them!!! Sounds like drugs had to of been in the mix.
thats sick. I feel for the baby and both the animals. If they cant prove the pitty didnt do it im sure it will be put to sleep. the ferret will probly ahve the same fate
the poor kid has to grow up not only missing toes but knowing that her parents were compleat idots. I mean you can only hide somethign like that for so long.
Maby they shoudl let something chew off the parents toes. It may sound mean but I think crule and unusal punshments are fine in cases like this. They should strap them in a car seat make them as helpless as that child is and have soemthing chew off there toes plus some. that child gets to live with the fact her parents were dumb enough to let her toes be chewed off. maby after the toes are off they should have salt and hat sauce rubed all over there nubs.
Im sorry i just get so mad when things happen to kids and animals.
No one, in their right mind, is going to SLEEP through a baby getting their toes gnawed off by a puppy, a ferret, or anything else for that matter.
She did not lose 4 toes instantly. It probably took a good long while for it to happen, longer if it was the ferret, I bet. She probably cried and screamed a good long while, and reports say that she was sleeping in a CARSEAT next to her parent, but they didn't wake up until AFTER the toes were chewed off.
Wondering why it's taking so long to do an analysis on a hair sample, and why they didn't do urine or bloodwork on those parents.
The poor puppy was only six weeks old, it looked so scared in the first videos they put on the news, they are saying now, because its a pit, they might not adopt it out, because people use them for fighting, cant they screen the adoptive parents? They said all kinds of calls were coming in with people wanting to adopt it.
thats absolutly horrible. STUPID, STUPID people. They deserve to be jailed for a long long time. that poor baby girl has to live with missing toes. Think of the life she's going to lead and struggle with.
as for trying to determine between which animal did it a ferret had teeth like a cat so if they did some sort of csi thing then they'd probably go with something like that
Lorrix you said exactly what I was thinking.. At the first bit the baby would have been screaming!!!! How in the heck can you not hear that. Last night my son was coughing in his sleep in the next room I heard every cough and woke up enough to make sure the coughing didn't get worse... First thing first if your baby is going to sleep in the car seat on the floor or something.. why in the world regardless of anything would you let you Ferret or puppy of any breed in the same room????

Well that's why I'm thinking that the drug results are going to be positive, and why I think they should have done a blood and urine analysis too.
Something is seriously wrong with those people, in addition to their sheer stupidity.
There's really just so much crap out there now drug wise that people are doing that's capable of rendering someone stupid enough to not hear their baby screaming next to them, that any law agency needs to be sure that they cover all their bases, even testing for the drugs that are being abused that you can get over the counter.
SOMETHING is just not right with how they're explaining it. The fact that their baby was sleeping in a car seat is one of the things that really bug me about it. I mean I know that as a parent, I've had nights where I put my son in his car seat and took him for a drive to get him to sleep, but having him sleep in there all night next to a mattress that's on the floor is just...out of sorts to me.
My husband and I have one child, and we've tried and tried to have one more...and it just infuriates me to no end that there are people out there having kids that can't or won't take care of them, while there are other people who would give their right arm to have just one.
Maybe that clouds my perspective on this whole matter, but really it's seeming to be pretty cut and dry, to me.
What happened? Was it a dog, or a ferret? We just don't know. We may never know. What cruel tricks fate can play! Perhaps Napolean said it best when he stated: “There is no such thing as accident; it is fate misnamed.”
How can we speculate on what happened in the face of such timeless ebbings and flowings of the Universe, with all her mysteries and unknowns! "There, by the Grace of God, go I."
Lorrix First I have to say im sorry you are having a hard time having another one. Mu cusion went though that for a few years they finaly had another but he died a few hours after he was born. a few years later they had a little boy, Hes the cutest sweetest thing I have ever seen.
But no i dont know your judgement is being affected at all by that. I feel most people with or with out kids, Who want them or dont, Would read this and feel the same way you do.
