Were i live there are a couple feral cat colonies. there is one down my street and another a few streets over. i feel very bad for them. Wiyh both i have saved kittens from though :) one i went to the people that were feeding them and there was a 8 week old kitten that walked up to me purring. i asked if i could take her well i took two mom wasn't to happy not as bad as dad.... With the other the kittens weren' nice at all didn't like people. well one day i walked up to a hot tud (gross not used) and loked in there were two kittens in it one got out but caught the other. her scrached me pretty bad. well i say this because i was looking on a web site and they were like THE BEST THING TO DO IS REMOVE THEM (you know what that means right) I believe in TRAP SPAY RELEASE. what do you think?

i believe in TNR also. though i think the cats brought in to be neutered should be tested for feline leukemia and aids and if are positive they shoule be euthanized. it is not a pretty death to die from those 2 diseases.
THANK YOU for all you do for the animals in your area!
You can contact AlleyCatAllies. They advocate TNR as well and have documented proof that it works! I received a brochure about it and a few cities who actually tried it it does actually work. Populations are reduced and the kittens do go to good homes so that they do not become educated to be feral(strays are the abandoned kitties who adopt the lifestyle out of necessity) ferals were born or who have adapted with a group of kitties into feral. It is so tragic- both for dogs and cats. THAT's what makes me so mad about all the breeding and backyard breeding and people not being legislated to fix their pets(here in MS. and also in my home state of CAL. Low cost spay and neuter can cost only $ 5 or $10 for cats and dogs- here in MS. you also get a free rabies shot along with it!) I was able to get my four female cats spayed for $40. and they all got a free rabies shot! I just have to get paid again for them to get their other shots and my boys too(Its about time for their yearly shots all 8 of my babycats-my dog had to get her shots because of Heartworm as the hospital doesn't allow unvaccinated dogs and cats to be in the hospital any length of time.)In CAL. you can also find clinics that have reduced cost of cat or dog shots for a small fee.
