Ok I am an old school training type here and this is going to sound REALLY cruel, but I got this from a trainer that in the 50's and 60's trained all of the Hollywood dogs and he really knew his stuff and this is what he recommends in his book. Now remember this sounds harsh and cruel in today's way too soft society so BE WARNED:
Fill the holes with water, all the way full. Take the dog and force his head into the water, all the way in, yes he can't breathe, that the idea. Hold it under for as long as it takes that you know he's panicing. Do this with every hole he has dug even if there's 20 holes in the yard. According to this trainer, the dog will decide that digging isn't worth the trouble. I will post the name of this trainer and the book he wrote when i get back to the computer, maybe not until Saturday, I use the library 'pute and wasn't expecting to need this info
. I know you didn't ask, but the reason the war in Iraq isn't going too well is because this society won't do what is neccessary to win a war. Wars are not won by talks and negotiating, they are won by destroying the enemy to the extent that they cannot withstand anymore destruction as in bombing the entire nation into submission. Just like we did to Hitler's Germany.Just like we did to Japan. Just like we did the first time in Desert Storm. Kick their a**es until they surrender. Collateral damage is a horrible thing, but until strength is shown, there will always be a conflict, be it man or beast. Ever see a Gazelle negotiate a deal with a Lion??? 'nuff said.
I don't condone "drowning" as training, however I have to say that you guys are attacking schoolbus wrongly...reread the thread....she never says she does this, jsut that she was told of this form of "training" and spoke on behave of it and the book. Don't know if she did or not, the post doesn't say it outright.
So chill and read the thread for what it is.....ask the question before accusing.
Also..way to redirect the anger of the origional OPs issues on someone else guys. Isn't this 2007?
