If you don't want to be greeted with paws and swinging tails, Don't come inside because dogs live here. If you don't like the feel of a cold nose or wet tongue, Don't come inside because dogs live here.
If you don't want to step over many scattered toys, Don't come inside because dogs live here.
If you think that a home ought to smell of perfume, Don't come inside because dogs live here.
But if you don't mind all of this, you will be instantly loved when you come inside because dogs live here!
I love it! Thank you for posting. I can't tell you how many comments I get from people when they find out I have 5 dogs. I know many of you will understand but most people do not. I have a lint roller in my desk at work, in my car, several in the house. To me it's not a big deal. I would love to post this in my house. My house is not a disaster, my dogs don't stink, etc. But I will never have the perfect museum quality house that so many people have/want. In my house there are 5 dogs, 4 teenagers, and two adults. I freely admit it's a zoo, but I personally think the two boys cause more of mess than the 5 dogs!
That's perfect! I actually tell people when they come into my house - if you don't want dog hair on you - don't sit down....
The poem hits home... over the holidays I had my extended family over... my uncle was talking about how messy dogs are and how much work they are... he said "I don't know how you handle it..." On cue, Charley jumped up next to me, laid his head on my lap and let out a silent groan of contentment.... I said, "Yeah - it's a hardship...." LOL... I can't imagine not having my dogs...
I love those! Thanks for posting them. I long ago decided that the only fabric worth wearing is denim. It is so easy to brush hair from and usually hair just falls off it. With the colors of dogs we have (including shades of black,blue-gray,white,tan,brown) there is no "safe" color of clothing. Whatever we wear there will be contrasting dog hair showing on it.
