well i have one. that says it. i don't think the health problems are overwhelming, but you have to put effort in and search for a good breeder with a healthy line. many breeds are more unhealthy as a rule. cute sturdy little snarflers. people loving, a wonderful lap dog. lots of personality.
Pugs are great dogs. We had one that we had to put down 2 years ago. I miss him every day.
They are a big dog in a little package. Great with kids. They love to be with you. Just do your research and make sure you get your puppy from an educated breeder, and preferably a breeder that has many lines.
preferably a breeder that has many lines. ----------------------------------------- Just curious if you could explain that further.
Pugs are a great breed, yes there are some health issues you need to be aware of. Be sure you get an experienced breeder who gives a health guarantee for genetic issues.
Their personalities are awesome. They are not a breed for extreme hot or cold, and not a big excerciser. A short indoor game of fetch about does it for them, lol. They are generally laid back. Good with children, though as with any breed the children need to be taught to be good with them If you can get past the grunting, snorting, farting and snoring....then they jut may be what your looking for, lol.
