DOSE ANYONE KNOW IF FEMALE CHIH'S GET PMS BECAUSE MINE HAS ONLY HAD 1 PERIOD AND THE OTHER NITE SHE WENT BONKERS I THOUGHT HER HEAD WAS GOING TO START SPINNING AND I WAS GOING TO CALL A PREAST BEFORE SHE STARTED THROWN UP THAT GREEN STUFF. SHE ACTS LIKE SHE IS THE QUEEN AND KINDA MESSES WITH MY BIG CHOW AND THE OTHER NITE SHE WANTED TO KILL HER AND SHE EVEN TRYED TO BITE ME AND SHE WOULDN'T STOP NO MATTER WHAT ANY INFO ON MY BITCHES BEHAVIOR WOULD GREATLY BE APPRCIATED. KIKI'S MOM MONALISSA
well my chihuahua does that sometimes and I asked my vet about it and he told me that t was normal behavior. although my chi wasn't puked up any green stuff. can you better define the green stuff. was it grass or was it sonething else?
I have herd of fem having PMS. I was talking to a lady who did rescue work around us. She told me some of the dogs brought to her are there because they bit someone, a few days later they go into heat and are totaly normal agin. She gets them fixed and after that has no problems.
I never herd of it befor then but I guess its possable I mean its not much diffrent from what we go through. I dont think it is anyway.
our pyr used to get cranky when she was in heat. she would snap at the cats alot but never did she harm them. when her heat was over she would be back to mothering them again. she NEVER tried to bite any one of us. you better make sure you teach your chi that biting is unacceptable in ALL circumstances.
I can't help but snicker at your topic! The PMS caught my eye and I can just imagine your little girl going nutso on you! ha! Sorry to laugh but it does sound amusing to others......anyway.....
I'd ask the vet about your dog going into heat (periods). Some dogs vary and don't follow the normal textbook. I had one of my female dog spayed recently and she made vet history because she didn't have a right uterine "horn" or right ovary and tube (human talk).
About her behavior--sounds like 5 pounds of attitude that needs an adjustment! You need to remain firm with her by ACTIONS. We can yell at our dogs all day but they don't care and don't know what we are saying. I strongly suggest you teach her some manners soon and be the bigger bitch (if you know what I mean--no pun intended) and let her know YOU are the leader and YOU are in charge. Your Chow may get enough one day and adjust her attitude permanently.
