Im so confused, hopefully someone could help me out on this.
Alright, about 5 days ago, I purchased a puppy from a breeder in APP Classifieds. We took a ride to her house and glanced at all the puppies in the pen. Didnt take me long before one caught my eye. She was clearly smaller then the others. Everything about her was. I didnt take notice of the other puppies, but I we did have a very small discussion on her being the runt. I just got what I came for and left. I didnt recieve papers since I was talking to the breeders sister. The breeder recently left for florida and wont be back until after New Years. I Paid 225$ for her. Shes Claimed to be a Smooth Fox Terrier. Wich i do believe. All the siblings resemble one except my puppy(Holly). Shes adorable but i just have this gut feeling she looks more like a Toy Fox Terrier then she does a Smooth. Is this because shes the Runt of the litter, and its her size thats throwing me off? Some one please respond, Its not that big of a deal to me.. I just wanted a larger dog then a Toy. I'll also contact the breeder when she returns about this.
Is it just her size that makes her look different? Quite often, the "runt" isn't actually a runt. She could just be the last pup conceived, and will eventually catch up in growth to the others. How old is she?
Alright, I'll post a pic up, Of course i picked the smallest. She weaved through her brothers and sisters like she was the biggest of them all. lol. Um.. Im getting Vet papers. But im also going to discuss about her being Purebred or not.
There ya go. But you see what i mean by her resembling that of a toy fox mor ethen a smooth. Just the snout itself throws me off. Unless im just worrying over nothing. And its just her being the runt that she'll hopefully grow out of. And thanks for your help & time.
The wisest thing to have done would be to wait slightly more than a week for the breeder to come home and get the papers when you pay for the dog. Since you already paid for the dog it is now up to the breeder if she is going to actually get the papers for you. You paid such a small amount that even small claims court might not be worth the trouble and by the time anything is done you will already be in love with your pup. By trusting someone you do not know you have opened up yourself to being cheated. Hopefully my gut instinct is wrong and the breeder will be a wonderful woman who calls you the minute she returns and gives you your pup's papers and answers all your questions satisfactorily. Either way I am sure you will enjoy many years with your pup even if it is a small one. Good luck with it! Both are lovely breeds.
Heh, see when i bought her like i said the breeders sister helped me. And thats whom i paid since the breeder is on her way to FL. For New years vacation and will return monday. So i'll be taking a ride up there the following weekend. Wich is no harm. She only lives like 5 minutes away. Either way im satisfied with my puppy. Its just the couriosity that if shes really a smooth or a toy.But the entire day the breeder and i kept contact with calling eachother on times to show up at the house and about the dogs. She seems nice. Hopefully thinsg will work out
Lol, Shes soooo clingy though.....ughh i was reading about that .. with fox terriers they can get Seperation Anxioty. Thats gunna be a load to deal with..ha.. but thanks everyone for your help. I'll update more between the week and when I speak with the breeder.
