Do you have the Vet fill your prescription, or do you have them call it in to your local drug store? When Hailey was on meds for epilepsy, I had the vet call it in, to my local drug store, and it was soooooooooo much cheaper, I was actually shocked the first time I picked it up. Vet cost was $35 for 3 months worth, and the drug store was $7 for 3 months worth, of course it was the generic version.
I have my cat Beavis' prozac compounded into a transdermal gel by the vet compounding pharmacy I work at. its ultra cheap and much much cheaper & tons easier than trying to pill him or even give him the liquid.
The owner of our pharmacy tries her best to make all the medications as affordable as possible.
Its amazing to see some people who come to us were being charged 3 and 4 times what we charge for the same medication from their vets.
puppykisses16, I didn't realize that I could do that either, I'm one of those people who will ask questions like that, the worst they can do is say no. I was in, and out of the vet so much with 2 sick animals, it seemed we were going once a week for a long time. Hailey had severe seizures, and Desiree had liver disease.
