Am cleaning out my file cabinet drawer, looking for a truck title and came across one of my dogs AKC papers.
I know that the designation CH stands for Champion. Her sire and all the dogs on his side of the pedigree are Champions, as well as most on her dams side.
What got me though is that several are also designated SE. I looked on the back of the papers and it says Senior Earthdog.
Just what is an Earthdog? We don't have AKC dog shows up this far north and I don't remember seeing any Earthdog competitions on Animal Planet.
I googled it and came up with the fact that they have to be Junior Earthdogs, prior to becoming Senior Earthdogs, but so far do not understand the whole Earthdog designation.
Hoping that someone here knows a little more about Earthdogs and what the competition involves. I did find out that AKC spayed or neutered dogs can complete but so far haven't found out what is involved.
Forgot to add, I did google it on the AKC website, but it came up with 214 pages of information. I'm too lazy to read through that much information and am hoping someone can shed some light on this whole Earthdog issue.
Earth dog is so much fun! My aunt competes with her parson's. It's a tunnel course underground for ratters. It's timed on who can get through the maze to their prey (held in a secure cage so they can't really get it). I've saw it on Animal Planet a couple times, but they used a glass tunnels so you could see the dog work.
