I have a golden retriever puppy (9weeks old) she has been doing well with potty training but latley (the past 2 days) she has been urinating a lot more, in the house more too. When she does go outside she pees like three different times in a row and I can tell the really not much is comming out. When she pees inside it usually is only a few drops. I looked up symptoms and this is one, but she has no other symptoms. I was wondering if this could be something else and should i be worried?
How are you training her? I've heard of dogs that are scared to pee in front of the owner so they only go a little bit at a time. It's normal for dogs to do that. She may not realize how much she really needs to do. UTI would cause the dog to be overly thirsty, have a straining (like constipation) when peeing, it would be more frequent, they would be reluctant to pee, if there is a strange color or odor, and if they are housbroken and having frequent accidents. Treatment is simple antibiotics if you take the dog to the vet early enough and it should heal fine.
the best thing to do is if you feel there is a problem is to take her to the vets. you may not ever know until you get her looked at. It could be normal we had a german shorthair that seemed to pee a lot to me and we took her in. She came up negative for the urinery track infectiong and the yeast infection, but until you have the test done you won't know for sure. good luck and I would really get her in to a vet.
We have had her since she was 7 weeks, and have just been taking her outside when ever she wakes up, plays hard etc. Almost every hour. She has had very few accidents up to this point. When we take her outside, we say "lainey go potty" and then praise her everytime she does. Her behavior just seems to have changed overnight.
