I think the cornish game hens are the little ones. He may do ok. You can even get a whole chicken and have the butcher cut it into quarters. Or heck, even do it with a game hen, have them cut it in half for you.
I was interested in the raw diet philosophy. I have read about breeders who only give their dogs raw food. I have a bullmastiff and was wondering if the raw diet might be more beneficial than the large breed food that she is currently eating.
Some of my dogs get the whole chicken, bones and all. Others try to eat too fast and they would kill themselves if given the opportunity to have bones. If your dog is a gobbler then you are well advised to remove the bones or buy boneless. But if your dog will use his molars to grind the bones into small bits, it is OK to feed the bones as well. There are whole websites dedicated to this... does anyone have a link?
OK I did it. Baxter had his first feast last night. It consisted of 1/4 lb of filet mignon and 1 chicken drumstick (bone and all) At first he had no idea what to do with any of it and kept spitting out the meat but once he figured it out he went nuts.
