No, since I am the one grooming. I have one female, that when I finally finish her I need to go treat myself. When I use to groom, I could do 5 dogs to the time is takes me with her. She is one pill to do. If I took her to be groomed they would probably charge me triple.
When I worked for a groomer I would say about 50 - 60% of people tip. Those tips are REALLY appreiated. You can say, oh fluffy smelled so good last time, please give this to your bather, or I know she was a little matted so here's a litle extra to however groomed her.
i have english bulldogs, and persian cats so they are ALOT of work to groom. And my groomer i really don't think charges me enough for all of the work it takes, I have tried myself and needless to say, i ended up having to get Frank(my cat) a lion cut.......Not very pretty! And the bullies with all of there wrinkles....geeezzz once you start you find wrinkles that you didn't even know they had!! Lol

I work for a dog boutique/grooming salon. I don't groom but work in the store but I am responsible for checking out all customers. Probably about half of our customers tip the groomers, and the groomers definitely appreciate the tips. We have some that tip as little as $2.00 all the way up to those that tip $25. If you're going to be taking your dog there regularly, they will definitely begin to remember if you tip or not, and if you do tip, they will probably be excited to groom your dog. Most groomers work on an hourly wage so a tip is something nice for them to receive that says you appreciate them taking good care of your baby.
The one time I did take my dog to be groomed, yes I did.
I am usually a gracious tipper, but since I was about 10 minutes or so late picking her up (they were trying to close), I gave a ridiculous "I'm sorry" amount lol (and that was just a little family owned grooming business) They didn't want to take it, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Since I groom them myself, I don't have to worry about it anymore. But, if something came up again, and I had to take them, I definitely wouldn't mind showing my appreciation for their hard work. Especially since not just anyone can give a good clip. I would be extremely flattered if someone tipped me and vocally expressed appreciation.
Yes i tip my dogs groomer- she is so nice and does a wonderful job. Its a smaller kennel, boarding and grooming place and one girl does all the grooming- shes younger also her parents own it. bentley loves going and i never worry about him as i did taking him to petsmart. and also she does the works and only charges me 32.00 thats for everything. petsmart charged me 58.00 for the works- each place has the same options but petsmart i worried about bentley being in a crate while he waited his turn. and at the new groomer hes been to 3x hes happy to see me but not all freaking out like petsmart . and petsmart i never cared for his cuts- they never were how i wanted them done- But yes i tip the new groomer i give her 40.00 and tell her to keep the change so thats 8.00 i tip. when hubby picked bentley up his first time going to this groomer he tipped her 20.00 he was so impressed on how nice she was and how good bentleys cut was. so now i wonder if she thinks im cheap because i only tip 8.00 ? or maybe she thinks im not as happy as i was the first time??lol she does a awsome job and bentley isnt scared when i leave him and it doesnt take 3 hours like at petsmart its about 2 hours and hes ready to come home.
