I am posting this for a neighbour friend, well I guess you could still call her a neighbour even though she lives about half a mile away, lol. She is not computer literate and although she does have a computer she feels intimidated but her new year's resolution is to take a much-needed computer course. Anyway, she has been wanting to breed schnauzers for quite some time and has finally obtained a puppy and she can't believe how this pup has made herself at home from the first instant that she stepped into her new home, so outgoing and affectionate.
Basically, she would like to obtain as much information and would like to hear from owners of schauzers so I will be passing on any information. Photos would be much appreciated.
Well I own a mini, so I will tell you what I know about them... http://www.dogster.com/dogs/159197/sniff My dog is smart, stubborn at times, extremely loyal and playful. She also happens to think the best sound happens to be of her own voice. You will never be bored with a schnauzer around because they are full of tricks and ways to brighten your day.
Would you care to explain Merico? My neighbour has purchased a schnauzer pup with papers for your information so she is no backyarder!!! There is no need to be so rude and insolent, you don't know her from a bar of soap and yet you feel entitled to judge and just in case you are having a shot at me, I am not backyarder either so before you go all out get your facts straight.
We have been breeding min sch for 5 years and they are great dogs good with kids and very smart stubborn sometimes but they are great dog to raise and breed if you do your research and breed the right dogs you friend will find it rewarding we also do min sch rescue.
What comes around goes around soulmate....... why is it ok for you to be rude and insolent?

"You tell me what is so bad about a person believing that even animals have rights? I beginning to get the impression that when another poster called some of you "little hitlers" she might have guessed right. Hell people, what is wrong with some of you? isn't anyone allowed to have an opinion or do we have to act like sheep?"soulmate
PS I love Schnauzers.

I was never rude to anyone and re the comment of mine that you copied and pasted on your post just above this one I was just responding to someone who had been rude to me first and foremost, there would have been no need for me to say that unless someone gave me good reason to do so; I treat people as I want to be treated but I will not put up with people's rudeness for no reason at all. Why don't you adopt a fair attitude and explay EXACTLY why I decided to call a certain person a "little hitler"? I was defending myself as you already know so don't go copying and pasting only what you see fit, that is plainly unjust and besides which my post pretty much explains itself and anyone with a brain can see that I was, in fact, offended first and that I was responding to the sarcastic comments of a particular individual who thought it was a joke that I happen to love ALL animals and that I don't happen to believe in hunting, crucify me for loving all of God's kingdom!
What really upsets me the most are people like you that are devious and like to turn things around to suit themselves, you have no morals or ethics, it's such a sad world.

No, having papers does not determine the ethics of the person breeding; I have met quite a few unethical registered breeders in my time, some are fantastic and some, well say no more.
My point Ipn is that if you have never met someone you don't jump the gun and assume that they are a backyarder and go back to delete the post and the given reason for deleting is that you don't wish to advise BYB as Merico has done. Don't tell me that that was a kind gesture. I have every right to feel insulted. I do things by the book and I raise my puppies with pride, I health check all of my breeding dogs, I only breed them once a year, they live as part of the family, they are never caged altough I do use a crate as it is the easiest way to housebreak them but in general they are free to come and go, they are fed a top quality RAW diet, wormed regularly; when I go out they get to spend time in an enclosed verandah which is climate controlled, my cousin happens to be a vet so they get checked even more so than regular dogs, although I do have my own vet which I deal with on a formal note. My cousin comes to visit and a bite to eat and he will look them over as he is an ardent animal lover. I have my own hydrobath so I bathe them whenever needed and no expense is spared, I screen people thoroughly before selling them a dog and I carry out house checks as often as possible, I don't just sell my puppies to anyone and I happen to have a long waiting list so I never have to advertise a litter as I have a very good reputation and word of mouth is what does it for me not to mention that vets often mention me to people seeking pups and I am not talking about my vet but vets that belong to the people that have purchased one of my puppies and seeing them grow up and seeing with their own eyes how healthy they really are, in actual fact I have sold a fair few pups to vets!!! So you have to forgive me if I do get hurt when a complete stranger chooses to treat me indignantly by calling me a backyarder and that was not said on a positive note as you know only too well.

Have no real idea what the rest of this thread was about, just wanted to address that one comment.
Hello Soulmate.. I am new to this site as well and i am trying to learn more myself about breeding and just in general being a good resposible pet owner. No one here knows you or your frien and should not have called you a byb. I think that you and your friend are trying to do the responisble thing by getting the information you need to determine IF she should be bred and how to go about that. Here is my opinion, First you need to make sure that the dog is AKC registered. The other registries aren't so good.. ( please look for other posts in regards to this) Then she need to make sure that the dog has a really good pedigree.. Champions in the the pedigree and maybe trying to see if the parents and grandparents and health testing. To be very honest i don't know all of the tests that that paticular breed would need to have. Then after all that you need to have the puppy health tested for genetic problems. Altough i think ( not sure) that pup has to be older when tested. If no one here will tell you for that paticular breed, I would say have her talk to the vet about any genetic problems this breed should be checked for. In the meantime while this puppy is still growing, maybe she could find a breeder in her area that can menotor her and she could go through the process with the breeder to learn everything she can. It does just take alot more than getting her dog pregnant and giving her a whelping box. It is alot of work!! Hope all of this helps and good luck to your friend, I am hope she gets all the info she needs to breed her pup and make the breed better!!!
