I had used Petfinder and discovered it went within my zip code. Did you enter a zip code? If you try a search under a different area, you will find just as many animals. I know there were hundreds in my search area.
yes that's what i did. i got a bunch of places near my, it's when I was reading the description of the pup that a lot of them said that they are being fostered her in New England but came from/were abandonded in TN. I found that both odd and intriguing.
puggle, I am from Tn and I am a member of a rescue organization. I know just what you are talking about when it comes to the high numbers of dogs needing homes from here. Tennessee (well many parts of it) doesn't seem to be as "advanced" as other parts of the country. It is almost like a third world country right in the U.S. people here do not value the life of an animal, and when the animals get boreing, bark to much, or get sick they are dumped. It is hard to get them adopted out into the state because so many people already have 4 or 5 dogs that they picked up off the street. In fact our county does not have an animal control or a shelter. The dogs that we rescue live in our homes (we're up to 168 dogs right now) and more to come. Pretty sad isn't it?
