I am only the 2 nd chapter, the first is about the domestication of the dog. Great info. but the second chapter is all about experiments and tests done on rats, dogs, monkeys. during the early weeks. The tests are simple. like social deprevation (do not worry these were done in the 60's, not now the autor is just publishing the finding). tempature change. even stress upon momma and how affects the dogs in-utero. I am so glad I bought this book. By reading a few short pages I have come accross a pleathera of information for setting dogs up to be confident and social some of the stuff is old news I already knew. But did you know that puppies who are less than 3 weeks old subjected to tempature changes, have a stronger immune system and handle stress considerably better.

This book is probably the best dog book I have ever bought.

It is a series of 3 and is in the format of a text book, so the reading is tough. and the books are pricey. 60.00 for volume 1. I heard 2 is not as good but I will buy it just to see for myself

by steven r. lindsay.

It's a book on dog behavior. all the way from in-utero to adult, to rehab, everything. great, great book!

It sounds like one the textbooks for the per vet program/ vet tech program. I will look for it at college on tuesday
