One breeder told me that she didn't like the tri's and that when you breed a tri to a tri they get something, but can't remember the name of it, and she know of people who had lost their whole litters.
Not sure what age that was though.
I contacted the PWCCA and asked the secratary about it and she said that if it was a problem like that she was sure the club would look into it. She also went on to say that she breeds tri to tri.
So I'm not sure if that could be it or :
1. The blue puppy had the hurnia operation at 4 hours old.
2. Pembrokes aren't suppost to come in blue and the Cardigains that are blue are usually blue merles and this one had no black marks to indicate merle markings.
The one that died this morning was the runt and at first he was being pushed aside. So there might have been something wrong with him to begin with.
I don't have a sethascope (sp) so I could only listen with my ear. He sounded like he had a heart murmur or something was wrong with his chest. Couldn't really tell, but there was definatly something not right. He was having problems breathing.
I am hoping that these are the causes and that Gopher will be OK.
* Sorry I did say his name was Badger, but it is really Gopher. Badger was a foster puppy I had that was corgi/chow mixed. She went to live with my dad. Which is where this puppy will be going if it survives.
Though it really comes down to who you ask. My husband named him Gopher and the one that died this morning Weasel. Where my daughter named them Orge and Zake. Then my son called them Moe and Max.
