Ok, so I was driving all the boy scouts around tonight to sell tickets for their scout dinner, Well I guess someone let miles out of his carrier and when they opened the door to get out Miles got excited and Jumped out after them and fell straight on his head on the concrete, I was so scared and crying so hard, I was sure my baby was going to die, I rushed him to the vet, Thankfully he is okay now . So what I am asking now is I have a first aid kit in the car for my human babies, obviously I need one in the car for my fur babies. What all should I put in it?
Hi, I'm glad to hear Miles is okay. what kind is he?? I looked through my pet first aid books and this is what they say you should have:
- rolls of 5cm (2in) and 7.5 (3in) bandage - self-adhesive bandage - roll of 5cm (2in) crepe bandage - roll of 5 cm (2in) and 7.5 (3in) wide adhesive plaster - non-stick gauze pads - cotton wool balls - tweezers - curved, blunt-ended scissors - straight scissors - length of strong, soft bandage or nylon (to use as a temporary muzzle) - dog nail clipper - antiseptic and disinfectant liquids recommended by your vet - tube of antiseptic cream - hydrogen peroxide (3%) for flushing wounds - mineral oil for treatment of constipation - ear and eye drops recommended by your vet - roll of absorbant paper towel - leg from old nylons (to put over head if ears are bleeding) - old sock (to protect a dressing on the lower limb, you could also buy vet bandage for this)
i hope this helps. it is just a guideline though so you can adjust it how you see fit
