Well my baby is becoming a woman! 9 months old in a week. She hasn't started bleeding yet but she is swollen. I am looking for doggie diapers and just wondering if I should get the cloth ones. Anyone have advice? Do they stay on? Thanks!
when a dog goes in heat, how long do they bleed for? is it heavy? you need to put something like a diaper on the dog? wow- not looking forward to this at all. but if they are spayed before heat then they wont bleed am i correct? my daisy is only 5 months old and i plan on having her spayed no later then end of feb. for all of these reasons- bentley is neutered and i am with her every second she is out side so it isnt a pregancy thing its the bleeding thing i dont want to go threw.
Tappety, it depends on the dog. If you have her spayed she will not bleed or come into heat. Jasmine barely bled when in heat, she kept herself VERY clean. I'd only find a tiny drop of blood here and there.
However my cousins GSD was absolutely disgusting when in heat. There was mass amounts of blood everywhere.
I'd suggest regular baby diapers if you have the money to spend. Petsmart sells dog diapers that are washable if you want.
Be careful of the dipers. Don't be suprised if she takes them off. You are going to need to clean her up several times a day since you are taking away her ability to do so. Don't think they somehow make her safe and unbreedable.
Well, if you are just trying to keep the mess in...which i have to do with my bullies...(they can't reach their nannies) I have found that toddler panties work the best...I bought every type of doggy pants there was and they just wasn't working, so i went to walmart and bought little girl size 4-5 toddler panties and a big box of Always with wings maxi pads....They work wonderful..and really cute mind you. Keep in mind my bullies don't have much of a tail so this works for us...any other breed you might have to cut out a tail hole....Good luck!!!
I tried the doggy diapers with my bulldogs and they never stayed on. Then I couldn't even find the right size to fit them. In my opinion, they are a waste of money, but they might work great with other breeds.
I just bought baby dipers for my golden. i got the is 6 or 7 and cut a hole for her tail. you will also need some packing tape to help keep them on. these are not for preventing a mating, just to keep the mess down
