Stanley is 3 years old and he isa Shetland Sheepdog. He knows sit, lay down, stay, paw, high five, dance, andi little bit how to crawl. And this doesn't count as a trick but, he can find some one find they run away and scream. LOL it is so funny
All of my standard poodles are taught their commands in german. I did this because they are used in so many dog friendly events ( fashion shows, listening ears, dog shows, community events, handicap children-hands on training< learing to walk steady and relaxation>) that I have a great fear they would follow anyone anywhere and even to their car and jump in. So if the right command is not givin in the language they learned them, they do not listen to people. Mind you, they are never let off the lead, but at shows, the dogs left in the crates while you are in the show ring are at risk of being stolen. Winston is the main one taken to events and many people have offered me money for him. His commands are the most extensive with: Lay down, sit, come, halt, go visit, say hello (go over and make greetings), kiss, shake hands. The rest are still in constant training.
I'll only tell you the commands for my to working boys, it would be to long to tell you all 10 of my dogs commands:)
Simba is trained in German Mostly and he knows; sit, down, come, heel, relax, track, find a artilcle, find narcs, search blinds, hold and bark, bite, out, knock it off, and free. oh, he knows how to stay but it is automatic so there is no cammand.
Kimbo is trained in Dutch Mostly and he knows; sit, down, come, heel, starting tracking, find narcs, find body, search blinds, hold and bark, bite, out, knock it off, and free. He has the same automatic stay as Simba.
Simba is a sport dog in Schutzhund, and my back up drug dog. Kimbo is a sport dog in Schutzhund, a cadaver dog, and my main drug dog.
Both on my dogs know: sit, lie down, get the ball and bedtime.
Charley (the 10 mo old) knows - "did I tell you to do something?" which results in a tucked tail and a whimper with the oh-so-cute cocking of the head, he also knows.. "NOT YOURS" - which means he should lay on his back and again look as cute as can be. He also knows "sing" - where he howls melodically.
Quincy (our 11 year old) knows many other commands... but feels that at his age he's earned the right to have selective hearing - so while he knows the commands... he just doesn't care.
Yep... I have some really well-trained dogs... NOT! LOL. well... at least they're cute!
Cody is 2 yrs. old, he knows sit, stay, he knows he has to stay until I say ok then he can get up, down, come, finish, off, go potty, leave it, bring it here, sit pretty, dance, walk nice, be good (when I see another dog coming and I can tell he is going to start barking or getting antsy to meet the other dog), no marking (when we are in a store or at someones house and he looks like he is going to mark I have to tell him this and he listens). When my hubby brings him in from his walk he will say "Go find Mommy" and no matter where I am he (Cody that is :) comes charging to me and gets all excited. When I am going from one room to another I will say to Cody, "let's go to the living room or wherever I have to go and he runs to the room I mention and waits for me. These are most if not all the things we have taught him, now for the things he has taught us, when he wants a treat, when he wants dinner, when he wants a snack, when he wants an ice cube he will go to refrig and bark and look up, if he wants a carrot, he goes to refrig and looks down, he barks one way when he just wants to go out on the porch and keep an eye on everything and a different bark when he wants to go out for his nightly walk. He tells me when it is playtime, sometimes I give in and play right then and there sometimes I don't. We know who is boss in this household and who is soooo very spoiled !:) He really is a good dog. he also knows his toys and brings you whatever you tell him to go get.
Here he is sitting pretty:Not a really good pic but you get the idea.
