I'm purchasing a 10 week old Min Pin and I just found out that here in Italy it is illegal to to dock a dog's tail and crop it's ears. This really doesn't bother me, but I've never seen a Min Pin w/o a docked tail.
Just wondering what other's opinions were on the appearance of a Min Pin w/o a docked tail????
i have never seen a min pin with a tail. i imagine i probably wouldnt recognize it as a min pin if i had seen one.
as far as legalities go ........ is it illegal to have the procedure done or is it illegal to own one who has been done ? i imagine if it were of concern to you, you could import one from somewhere where it isnt illegal to have them cropped and docked. if it isnt a concern than i guess it doesnt particularly matter much.
would love to see your pups pics though when you get him/her.
it's illegal to have the procedure done... no it really doesn't matter to me either way. i've never seen on w/o the docking either. i was just kinda wondering what everyone thought about how it would look... weird, etc??
There are some things about teh ears thoe, some of them can stand on there own, and they look like bat ears if you want them to hang as they do on the pics there are special weights you can use, just as they do with collies in the states, just ask anyone that owns collies and shows them and they'll tell you where you can buy them.
Good luck with your baby :) Glad to be of some help :)
Another interesting dog trivia from Italy, it is illegal to use any dog training device that could harm the dog. no pinches, no chokes, no e-collars. I would love to see the skill of the dog trainers there.
I can see by those pics just how different the breed standard is in Italy as opposed to the US. I am pro crop/dock. I like the tails docked. The ears are optional in my book. We crop the ones we plan to show, and leave natural those we wont be showing. But I prefer to have that option.
