I couldnt figure that out either Scout -- the weird thing is that I figured out that Jeff was the husband but couldnt figure out the guy in the bed! maybe he was asking her to divorce her husband? if you figure it out, please post!
i thought that also but it didn't seem like their *relationship* was very good, from the things the guy, chris, said to her before he asked for a divorce. my movie is still out on loan so maybe the person i lent it to can figure it out for all of us.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
I think that part was mainly kept in so that people would not have any suspicions that Jeff was Lynn's husband. Same reason the last piece of torn picture was not shown.
When she asked her lover "What do you want from me?" and he said "a divorce", I am taking it as he wanted their relationship to be much more then just sneaking around, and she did not judging by her body language towards him.
What I want to know is why did John pour wax over the "play me" tape when he started to talk to Lynn about her family as Amanda read whatever John put in that envelope to upset her...
I am thinking that Lynn had some connection with Amanda because she went in that room to kill her. I don't know if Lynn's lover has anything to do with her, or because she was an ex junkie and Lynn worked at a hospital...maybe John told Amanda that she was his daughter from the woman we hadn't seen until this movie and she went in there with intentions to kill him?
It seems John put whatever in that envelope to tempt Amanda even more, but hoping she would pass. I don't even think he really wanted her to read it. All the decisions were left completely up to her. But she went in that room to kill SOMEBODY.
I was trying to make sense of what she was babbling about but I am still lost lol I need to watch it again!
