I hope you won't rule out the Navy couple. Are they both sailors, or just one of them? If they are both Navy, you can ask them what their family care plan for Dukey would be if they both deployed at the same time. If they have children, and if they're both military, they have to have family care plans filed with their commanding officers saying who would be caring for their child/children if they were both deployed.
They are both Navy. I checked with her references and I was told that they could get sent out of the States because of the hubby's rank. I asked the couple what they would do if they relocated and they said they would take Dukey with them. But what if they get sent out of the States States? I'm not sure if that is a good idea and if it can be done(shipping and all).
We had a family give up their dog to us because the womens husband had to go to Iraq and she had to live with her parents, still she could not keep her Okinawa dog(in Japan thats what they call a shiba Inu or shiba mix) Thats where they got him. But the parents dog did not get along with him. So we got him and adopted him out in a few weeks. I would have a really hard time with that one too. I would maybe ask them if they had friends or family that would be willing to care for the dog if they should have to move too. Good luck with that.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
