Hi all, we just got a new kitten.. a 10 week old female snowshoe siamese mix. She is an absolute sweetheart and already a lap cat! *Smile* She also really has a thing for yogurt.. especially the strawberry and peach flavors (who knew cats liked flavored yogurt..) Anywho tho, we'd like to name her something original, not something everyone else's cat is named. We were also toying with the idea of the name "yogurt" in another language. Who knows tho. Open to any suggestions.
You can go to freetranslation.com for an easy way to test out an English word in several different languages. I did that and found that "Yogurt" looks alot like "Yogurt" in other languages. How about "Peach" -- ?? In Italian it is "Pesca." In Norwegian it is "Fersken."
I like Garfield. My cat looks like Garfield but is named Corey. He knows the word Chicken! You say chick-chick and he'll come up expecting chicken. Cept now, we say turkey and he comes expecting cat food. WIERD!!!!!!!!!
Personally I lean toward one syllable names, so that the animal actually can be easily called by their name and not "Kitty". Or at the most 2 syllables. Also not something you would be embarrassed using if you have to call for her outside of the house. How about Yaourt (french for Yoghurt) Pronounced Ya-ourt.
