Today I went to the vet to let him look at my dog before he gets nuetered. The vet realized that my dog's baby teeth still havn't fallen out yet and he's already 6 month. So he said I should wait another month for the nuetering, if by then the baby teeth are still in then he will have them pulled out during the nuetering surgery.
Anyone here have had similar situation? Why is it so important to have them pulled out?
It's really common for yorkies to retain baby teeth. Lacy had to have hers pulled when she was about 6 or 7 months old. She had 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom (her canines) that wouldn't fall out. Food was getting caught in between her baby teeth and permanent teeth and her breath was aweful. It doesn't hurt them much to have their teeth pulled, especially since he'll already be under anaesthesia for neutering. It's better to pull them than to leave them there.
