I am crate training my Beagle Jim, in the mornings, lunch breaks from work and nites when I get home I take him straight out to relieve himself. The problem is, Jim goes poo and pee outside so I reward him and bring him in, but shortly after coming back in he goes poo again somewhere in the living room. Usually behind the T.V. or under the lamp table. Is there something I can put down to keep him from going in those spots and how do I get him to get rid of all of his poo outside instead of holding part of it to drop in my house?
I , too have a Beagle, a 2 year old female. I wish I could help you but my Molly was the easiest dog I ever house trained. I don't know why, we never crate trained, used pads or paper trained. We were just persistent with a bathroom schedule and within a couple of weeks she was going to the door to be taken out. Over the weeks we did have a few mishaps but by about 4 months she was pretty well housebroke. This was a big shock for us. I hope someone else can give you some helpful advice. Don't give up..Beagles are wonderful dogs. We only paid $25 for our Beagle but I wouldn't take $25,000 for her. Good Luck.
